The Holden Street Gallery is proud to present Luthiers, a celebration of hand-made wooden stringed instruments, with works from local luthiers, Otto D'Ambrosio and Tucker Densley. This is a player's show with featured artists and special guest performing each night. On Friday, August 18, renowned jazz violinist, Matt Glaserand jazz guitarist, David Hawthorne, will be the featured performers. Saturday, local legends, Mark Cutler and Mike Tanaka, will take the stage at 6:30 and Minor Swing with Paul Kolesnikow will perform at 7:30 and 8:30.

This show is an exciting chance to see the work of two young, local luthiers who are beginning to garner national attention and who proudly display their affection for Rhode Island. Otto D'Ambrosio's designs through Eastman Strings are gaining national rave reviews and his original hand-crafted archtops are in demand from jazz players across the country. Tucker Densley is known regionally for his restoration and original work and is nationally and internationally recognized for his photography of fine instruments. Luthiers is a chance to celebrate the work of two local luthiers whose stars are on the rise.
